Otunba Femi Balogun Mocks Senator Ipinsagba’s Office Over Failed Damage Control, Challenges Proof of Development in Isowopo 1

The former Ward Liaison Officer for Isowopo 1, Otunba Femi Balogun, has mocked the Office of Senator (Dr.) Olajide Ipinsagba over what he described as a laughable and failed afterthought damage control following his recent resignation from the Senator’s grassroots structure.

Otunba Femi, said he resigned from his position after months of deliberate silence and gradual withdrawal, He accused the Senator’s media handlers of diverting public attention from the real issue of underperformance. He noted that the reaction from the Senator’s Office reflected a familiar pattern of propaganda rather than accountability, aimed at creating the illusion of achievement where none exists.

He explained that his resignation was guided by conscience and integrity, following repeated frustrations over the absence of tangible impact in Isowopo 1 despite consistent efforts to defend the Senator’s administration. Balogun challenged the Senator’s Office to present verifiable evidence of any development projects executed in the ward, insisting that the people are no longer swayed by rhetoric but are demanding visible results that reflect true representation.

He further maintained that leadership loses its essence when accountability becomes inconvenient, stressing that his resignation was a deliberate choice to uphold integrity and align with the people’s demand for transparency and progress.

The recent press statement issued by the Office of Senator (Dr.) Olajide Ipinsagba, purportedly in reaction to my resignation as Ward Liaison Officer for Isowopo 1, represents nothing more than a failed attempt at damage control. It reflects the familiar pattern of propaganda designed to conceal glaring non-performance rather than address the substance of public concern.

My withdrawal and subsequent resignation were not driven by sentiment or politics; they were guided by conscience. Since December 2023, I have borne the burden of defending, before my people, a structure that delivered no tangible impact in Isowopo 1. I stood between the frustration of my constituents and the indifference of their representative, struggling to justify what could not be justified. When it became clear that there was no meaningful development to warrant my continued defence, the only honourable step was to withdraw completely and resign.

The Senator’s Office may continue to release statements, but what the people of Isowopo 1 demand, and what I now challenge them to provide, are verifiable facts. Let them publish a list of developmental projects that could have required my physical participation or involvement. Let them itemize the roads constructed, schools rehabilitated, youths empowered, transformers installed, or any social projects executed in Isowopo 1 since the inception of their tenure. If such records exist, the people will see them in reality, not through carefully worded press releases.

Throughout my service, I used my media platform, Media Spotlight, to defend the Senator’s image, often against the growing discontent of the same people who gave him their mandate. I did so out of loyalty and commitment. However, loyalty must never replace truth. I will not continue to mortgage my integrity and professional reputation in defence of failure. When leadership stops listening and accountability becomes inconvenient, honour demands withdrawal, not silence.

The people of Isowopo 1 are no longer persuaded by statements; they are waiting for evidence of performance. Until the Senator’s Office can present visible and verifiable projects that demonstrate the dividends of representation, no amount of public relations effort can change the truth already known to the people.

This is not about personal differences. It is about performance, integrity, and public trust. I have chosen to stand with the people because leadership without impact is empty rhetoric. The time for excuses has passed. Let the Senator’s Office present the proof of development, and let the people judge who truly represents their interest.
