PNT Commends President Tinubu’s Nomination of Gen. Christopher Musa as Defence Minister, Describes It as Timely, Strategic and Critical for National Security

The Progressive Network for Tinubu (PNT) has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for nominating General Christopher Gwabin Musa, the immediate past Chief of Defence Staff, as Nigeria’s next Minister of Defence. The group described the decision as timely and strategic, PNT noted that the nomination is expected to strengthen the country’s counter-terrorism efforts and provide renewed confidence in national security.

General Christopher Musa's nomination was communicated in a statement by the Special Adviser to President Tinubu on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga. He is to replace Badaru Mohammed who resigned from the position on health ground.

The Progressives Network for Tinubu (PNT) commends President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the nomination of General Christopher Gwabin Musa, the immediate past Chief of Defence Staff, as Minister of Defence. This nomination comes at a defining moment for the country and follows the President’s recent declaration of a national emergency in the defence and security sector. It reflects a leadership that is fully committed to restoring peace, stability and confidence across Nigeria.

General Musa has served the nation with honour and distinction throughout his military career. As Chief of Defence Staff, he demonstrated strong command capability, deep operational intelligence and an unwavering commitment to improving coordination among the armed forces.
