Sule, in a statement made available to journalists in Akure, faulted Okunomo’s recent political moves, alleging that they were calculated attempts to gain attention and favour from the state’s political leadership. He maintained that Okunomo’s recent activities reflect personal ambition rather than a genuine desire for service.
The Akoko-born commentator noted that Okunomo’s record in public service has failed to show meaningful achievement, adding that his current posture only portrays a struggle for recognition. He further linked the former caretaker chairman’s actions to internal political scheming within the state.
Sule’s statement also highlighted issues bordering on integrity, leadership conduct, and the need for political actors to focus on development-oriented engagements instead of personal vendetta or blackmail.
He concluded by emphasizing that those seeking relevance through controversy will only end up undermining their own credibility in the political space.

BANJI OKUNOMO: THE CEO ATTENTION SEEKERS GROUP (ASG) OF ONDO STATE
It is no longer news that some politicians in Ondo State have suddenly found their voices, running their mouths just to gain political favour in the eyes of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa. It is, however, baffling to see individuals who should be worthy of credit and maturity choosing instead to go astray for cheap recognition.
I was particularly shocked to hear one political jobber a man who once served as caretaker chairman for two years under Governor Olusegun Mimiko now parading himself around as if he has achieved anything tangible. This same man, Banji Okunomo, was made caretaker chairman at the age of 46, yet he cannot point to a single physical project he initiated during or after his tenure.
As a staff member of the NDDC, one would expect that he could at least facilitate a simple borehole for his community in Okitipupa. Sadly, even the one at his own residence is fenced off a clear symbol of selfishness and greed.
It is an open secret that his current ambition is to replace Hon. Otito Atikase as a representative and to lobby Governor Lucky to remove Hon. Biyi Poroye as OSOPADEC chairman all in his desperate quest for relevance. But let’s be clear: Banji Okunomo is the architect of his own political misfortune.
How could you, Banji, ever imagine that BTO is the cause of your failures in life? You were given an amnesty scholarship to study Law at Elizade University, yet you remain an NDDC staff with no meaningful impact to your name.
Let me ask you a few honest questions:
1. When you served as caretaker chairman, who exactly was your problem?
2. Your inability to keep up with the digital age of modern politics who should be blamed for that?
3. Why on earth do you think you can compare yourself with BTO?
4. Do you believe that blackmail and character assassination can earn you success in Ondo politics?
5. And finally, what exactly is the colour of your problem? Are those around you as lazy and uninspired as you are?
As a so called “charge and-bail” lawyer, how many notable cases have you won not for your community, but for yourself?
Banji, you should be ashamed of yourself. Fighting a man of grace will only lead you into disgrace. You have earned the title of “CEO of Attention Seekers” for 2025. But let it be known you will get nothing from BTO.
An elder like you, at 58, still chasing shadows and peddling bitterness what a shame.
I challenge you to come for me if you wish, but remember: your plans are known, and they will not succeed.
