The Progressives Network for Tinubu (PNT) has held a crucial strategic meeting in Akure , the Ondo State capital, as part of its ongoing mobilization drive to consolidate support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The meeting, which drew coordinators from all 18 local governments of the State, also had media influencers in attendance, signaling the group’s resolve to combine grassroots engagement with strong media advocacy ahead of the 2027 elections.
In his welcome address, the Director General of PNT, Pastor Olumide Obadele, a versatile media practitioner and grassroots mobilizer, commended the participants for their commitment to the cause. He described the meeting as a “clarion call to duty” for coordinators across the State, urging them to step up their mobilization efforts. Pastor Obadele stressed that the ultimate task of PNT is not merely to consolidate the existing APC base but to expand the political frontier by targeting new voters. He explained that the over 1.5 million eligible voters who abstained from the last presidential election represent a huge untapped constituency that must be reached in order to secure a resounding victory for President Tinubu.
The DG was emphatic in outlining the mission of PNT, noting that the network is not an exclusive club for card-carrying members of the ruling All Progressives Congress, but rather a wide platform designed to accommodate people from all walks of life. “PNT stands as an umbrella that accommodates all and sundry,” he said, adding that the group was birthed through the visionary leadership of the Honourable Minister of Interior, Hon. Bunmi Tunji-Ojo, to serve as one of the strongest political vehicles in mobilizing for the President’s re-election. Obadele emphasized that inclusivity remains the lifeblood of the group, stressing that “PNT doesn’t discriminate but accepts members from across board, united by a shared commitment to the success of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”
He further charged the 18 local government coordinators to move beyond rhetoric and to immediately commence the building of strong, resilient structures in their respective constituencies. According to him, PNT’s strength will be measured not by the size of its meetings but by the reach of its influence at the grassroots, where elections are ultimately won and lost. He reminded them that the President’s vision for renewed hope can only be realized if every community feels the impact of the movement’s activities.
The DG also seized the occasion to brief participants on the forthcoming Local Government mobilization council inauguration , disclosing that preparations for the event have reached the final stage. He announced that the event would hold on Tuesday 7th of October, 2027 at the prestigious First Molac Hotel Akure, where leaders and mobilizers from across the State are expected to converge for what promises to be a defining moment in the group’s history.
Adding to the momentum, Olugbenga Fadeyi, the Coordinator of PNT in Akure North and a trained journalist, pledged that the media wing of the network would be more deliberate and robust in its operations going forward. He noted that the media remains a potent tool in shaping public opinion and pledged to leverage his professional expertise to ensure that the activities of PNT resonate across Ondo State and beyond. According to him, “media will henceforth be a strong voice for PNT, ensuring our message is heard in every corner of the state.”
With the strategic meeting concluded and the inauguration on the horizon, PNT has reaffirmed itself as one of the most organized and far-reaching political platforms rallying behind President Tinubu.
