In just two years at the National Assembly, Senator Olajide Ipinsagba, representing Ondo North Senatorial District, has proven that true leadership is not measured in promises made, but in lives touched, communities transformed, and legacies built.
From the chambers of the Senate to the remotest villages of Ondo North, his footprints are bold and unmistakable. One of his most historic achievements came early, the successful sponsorship and Senate passage of a bill to establish an ICT University in Ikare Akoko. This single legislative feat has the power to reshape the academic and technological future of the entire region.
But Senator Ipinsagba is not a man of words alone; he is a doer. His efforts in education are profound. Over 1,000 tertiary students have benefitted from his scholarships and bursaries, while more than 1,000 secondary school students receive free JAMB forms every year. He facilitated overseas scholarships, distributed useful materials to schools for the physically and visually challenged, and renovated and built classrooms across multiple local governments, including Irun Akoko, Ikare, Owo, Ose, and Akoko North West.
In healthcare, Senator Ipinsagba has conducted free medical outreach and surgeries, with hundreds receiving free eye surgeries and glasses in all six local governments, now in its second phase. He also distributed hospital equipment to the State Specialist Hospital, Ikare, and installed lab equipment at FMC Annex, Supare Akoko.
Empowerment remains one of the strongest pillars of his impact. He has trained and empowered farmers (in three phases), provided free seedlings and farming equipment, and introduced advanced mechanized agriculture to boost productivity. Youths and women have been trained in digital marketing, catering, tailoring, soap production, and ICT, with beneficiaries receiving free laptops, startup grants, and working equipment. Some have received cash support to boost existing businesses, while others have been facilitated into employment and NDDC training programs in Auchi and Akure.
The Senator’s investment in infrastructure has been both widespread and strategic. He has installed solar power systems in rural areas, distributed transformers in Owo, Isua, Ikare, and Ogbagi, and constructed boreholes in Owo, Afo, Okeagbe, and Ikare. He facilitated the construction of civic centers in Ikare and Okeagbe, with more underway in Owo and Arigidi, and supported the building of lockup shops, restrooms for police stations, and the ongoing Agolo Hall. Roads have been built in Oka Akoko, and the Onisua Palace is under renovation.
In a rare demonstration of responsive representation, he organized town hall meetings, a first in Ondo North, and supported the Owo Security Summit, reinforcing peace and local stability. His humanitarian touch includes the distribution of relief materials to rainstorm victims, and support to technical schools and vulnerable populations.
And still, more projects are in the pipeline: the Oja Oba Shopping Complex in Ikare Akoko, Owo Civic Center, and Arigidi Civic Center are among the high-impact initiatives that will soon redefine local commerce and communal life.
What sets Senator Ipinsagba apart is not just the volume of work, but the deliberate spread and depth of impact. His projects reach every group, youth, women, the elderly, the vulnerable, farmers, students, and traders, and every corner of the senatorial district.
