Supreme Court Victory: Hon. Tomisin Edu Falade Congratulates Governor Aiyedatiwa, Deputy Adelami, and the People of Ondo State - TEF Media

Hon. Tomisin Edu Falade, CEO, TEF FOUNDATION, has extended heartfelt congratulations to the Governor of Ondo State, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, his deputy, Dr. Olayide Owolabi Adelami, and the entire All Progressives Congress (APC) for the recent Supreme Court ruling on the legitimacy suit filed against the governor.

The suit, initiated by Hon. Agboola Ajayi, the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the November 16, 2024, Ondo State election, challenged the legitimacy of Dr. Adelami’s election, alleging discrepancies surrounding his name change. Ajayi sought the nullification of Adelami’s election, claiming the name change lacked proper documentation. Additionally, Ajayi challenged the legitimacy of Governor Aiyedatiwa and the APC.
However, in a landmark judgment, the Supreme Court ruled that the plaintiffs lacked the legal standing to pursue the case, deeming the appeal unsustainable. The case was dismissed, with the court ordering Ajayi to pay ₦2 million in costs to each of the four respondents.

Hon. Tomisin Edu Falade, described the case as an “unwarranted attempt” by Agboola Ajayi and the PDP to undermine the democratic mandate freely given by the people of Ondo State on November 16, 2024. He emphasized that the judiciary’s judgment reaffirmed that people’s will cannot be overturned through baseless legal maneuvers.

"With this judgment, the Supreme Court has shown that people's mandates cannot be hijacked through backdoor tactics. The Nigerian Judiciary has clearly stated that democracy, rooted in the will of the people, must stand strong," said Hon. TOMISIN Falade Edu.

The CEO, TEF Foundation also congratulated Governor Aiyedatiwa and Deputy Governor Adelami on their victory. He further congratulated the people of Ondo State, highlighting that this legal triumph secures continued progress under the governor’s “OUR EASE” development agenda, which is already making a positive impact since the governor's swearing-in.

“Despite the prolonged legal battle, the focus of Governor Aiyedatiwa has remained unwavering. His commitment to Ondo State’s growth is evident, and this victory is a testament to his dedication to serving the people of Ondo State with integrity and purpose,” She said.
