The International Cultural and Event Center, "The Dome," in Akure was abuzz with energy and ambition as the BTO Youth Development Convention brought together hundreds of young leaders, entrepreneurs, and policymakers under the unifying theme, "We Can Evolve: Building a Prosperous Nation, a Joint Task, The Tunji-Ojo’s Model."
Hon. Dr. Bunmi Tunji-Ojo, the Minister of Interior, has undeniably been a driving force in the youth leadership revolution in Nigeria. This dynamic event, powered by the Office of the Special Adviser to the Minister of Interior on Youth and Student Affairs, celebrated the 2024 International Youth Day and the extraordinary legacy of Hon. (Dr.) Olubunmi Tunji Ojo.
The convention sought to ignite a movement of youth-led transformation across Nigeria. Attendees, from aspiring change-makers to seasoned development experts, experienced a day packed with inspiring stories of resilience, thought-provoking panel discussions, and networking opportunities that fostered connections vital to driving positive change.
Keynote speakers captivated the audience with their insights into nation-building, urging the youth to embrace their roles in shaping Nigeria's future. They emphasized the importance of youth collaboration in building a prosperous nation and reiterated that the Tunji-Ojo Model, which focuses on collective effort, innovation, and resilience, is essential in achieving national goals.

The Question & Answer session offered participants a platform to engage directly with experts, providing clarity on critical topics and sparking new ideas. Beyond the discussions, the convention served as a melting pot for networking, where young leaders exchanged ideas, formed new alliances, and strengthened their resolve to contribute to national prosperity.
The BTO Youth Development Convention not only inspired new perspectives but also equipped participants with practical tools to lead transformative initiatives in their communities. Dignitaries present included the Governor of Ondo State, H.E. Governor Lucky Orimisan Ayedatiwa, represented by the Commissioner for Youth and Sport, Hon. Saka Yusuf Ogunleye; several Ondo State cabinet members; the Member representing Akoko North East/Akoko North West Federal Constituency, Hon. Ifeoluwa Ehindero; the Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps; the Comptroller of the Nigeria Correctional Services; the Deputy Commandant of the Nigeria Immigration Service; as well as leaders of the Nigeria Youth Council and various student bodies.
The convention affirms the power of youth in driving change and lays the groundwork for a brighter, more prosperous future for Nigeria.
