In a reflective message issued to commemorate the first anniversary of Oluwatuyi’s death, Aregbesola described the late public servant, fondly known as Tuykana, as a rare servant-leader whose life and career were defined by humility, integrity, and unwavering commitment to grassroots development.
He noted that Oluwatuyi’s contributions to governance in Ondo State transcended official titles, highlighting his role as a stabilising force in government and a dependable bridge between leadership and the people. According to Aregbesola, the former SSG consistently placed the welfare of citizens at the centre of public service and earned widespread respect across political and social divides.
Aregbesola further recalled Oluwatuyi’s calm disposition, accessibility, and people-oriented leadership style, stressing that his impact on artisans, youths, community leaders, and party faithful remains deeply ingrained in the collective memory of the state.
He added that although one year has passed since Oluwatuyi died on January 4, 2025, from injuries sustained in a road accident, his values and example continue to inspire purposeful leadership and people-centred governance in Ondo State.
The APC chieftain concluded that the late Oluwatuyi’s legacy would endure as a benchmark for sincere public service, noting that true leadership is measured by lives touched rather than positions occupied.

One year after the painful departure of Hon. Temitayo Oluwatuyi, fondly known as Tuykana, the sense of loss remains deep and personal. Time has not erased the void his passing created, nor has it diminished the powerful memories of a man whose life was defined by service, humility, and an uncommon commitment to the people he served.
Hon. Oluwatuyi was more than a public office holder. He was a bridge between government and the grassroots, a steady voice of reason in moments of uncertainty, and a servant-leader whose influence was felt far beyond the titles he held. His tenure as Secretary to the Ondo State Government was marked by diligence, loyalty, and a quiet efficiency that strengthened governance and promoted stability within the state.
Throughout his years in public service, whether as Commissioner, local government administrator, or party leader, he consistently placed people at the centre of leadership. He listened. He understood. He acted. Artisans, youths, market women, party faithful, and community leaders found in him a dependable ally and a compassionate advocate. His office was never distant from the people, and his leadership was never divorced from empathy.
What set Hon. Oluwatuyi apart was his humility. Despite his vast experience and influence, he carried himself with simplicity and warmth. He led without arrogance, corrected without bitterness, and served without seeking applause.
