Applicants could now apply, track, and receive their passports within defined timelines. The days of endless queues and opaque processing faded into history. Beyond these achievements, the Ministry under Dr. Tunji-Ojo has set new benchmarks in innovation and service delivery. A Centralised Passport Personalisation Centre was commissioned in Abuja to ensure faster, more secure production of passports nationwide. Major airports now operate with digital e-Gates that speed up clearance and reduce human interference, while a National Command and Control Centre provides real-time monitoring of border activities. Through these initiatives, Nigeria has witnessed the birth of a modernized, technology-driven immigration system that reflects President Tinubu’s resolve to make governance more efficient and people-focused.

Equally remarkable are the human-centered reforms that have redefined morale and professionalism within the paramilitary services. Across the Nigeria Immigration Service, Correctional Service, Fire Service, and the Civil Defence Corps, thousands of officers have benefitted from long-overdue promotions, improved welfare packages, and capacity-building programs. The creation of specialized units such as the Mining Marshal under the Civil Defence Corps demonstrates how internal security is being strategically aligned with economic protection. These reforms are not isolated achievements; they are direct outcomes of a president who empowers competent hands to deliver results.

In addition to transforming immigration and security operations, the Ministry has also revolutionized correctional services across Nigeria. A striking example is the Kuje Custodial Centre, which has evolved into a true centre of rehabilitation and human development. In 2025 alone, the facility produced seven inmate graduates, including one PhD and six Master’s degree holders, with five more degree holders due for graduation this year. It has so far produced forty-five undergraduates, while ninety-five inmates are currently enrolled for NABTEB and another ninety-five for NECO examinations. The establishment of a dedicated NABTEB centre within Kuje underscores the government’s commitment to education and rehabilitation, not just incarceration.

The transformation extends beyond the classroom. The Kuje facility now houses a modern pure water factory producing 200 bags per hour, providing inmates with both vocational training and productive engagement. These efforts are complemented by partnerships with private organizations and civil society groups such as the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), whose support in legal aid, mentorship, and rehabilitation programmes has helped inmates rebuild confidence and purpose. This holistic reform approach reflects a humane government that values restoration over punishment and development over despair.

Dr. Tunji-Ojo’s approach to leadership is simple yet profound: service must be defined by results, not rhetoric. He does not build reputation through words; he builds it through impact. Where others politicize, he professionalizes. Where others seek attention, he delivers transformation. His milestones have become both a shield against falsehood and a mirror to the inadequacies of his critics. Every achievement stands as a living rebuttal to propaganda.
