In a statement released to journalists and signed by its Director-General, Pastor Olumide Obadele, PNT said the orchestrated blackmail against the Minister collapsed instantly because it lacked substance and credibility. The group noted that Premium Times, whose Freedom of Information (FOI) letter was being circulated out of context, had already clarified that the NYSC confirmed the authenticity of Dr. Tunji-Ojo’s certificate in an official response dated 8 August 2023.

PNT DESCRIBED LATEST SMEAR CAMPAIGN AGAINST DR. OLUBUNMI TUNJI-OJO AS A BLACKMAIL DEAD ON ARRIVAL
The Progressives Network for Tinubu (PNT) has watched with amusement the latest failed attempt by political desperadoes to resurrect a dead issue concerning the NYSC certificate of the Honourable Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo. This weak and poorly coordinated smear campaign is not only laughable but dead on arrival. It is a pitiful waste of time by those whose only contribution to public discourse is propaganda, bitterness and sponsored falsehood.
The facts are already settled and cannot be rewritten by mischief makers. In 2023, Premium Times wrote to the NYSC under the Freedom of Information Act requesting verification of Dr. Tunji-Ojo’s NYSC certificate. The NYSC, in an official response dated 8 August 2023, confirmed that Dr. Tunji-Ojo was duly mobilised, remobilised and issued a valid Certificate of National Service with Certificate No. A004523631 after completing due administrative processes. Premium Times has since publicly reaffirmed that the Minister’s certificate is authentic. Only lazy minds and intellectually bankrupt characters would still be circulating the FOI request letter without the NYSC’s official reply just to deceive the public.
This latest noise is nothing but a deliberate mischief campaign engineered by people threatened by Dr. Tunji-Ojo’s rising influence and undisputed performance. Their strategy is childish: when a man is performing and earning public trust, they attempt character assassination. Unfortunately for them, this time they picked the wrong target. They cannot destroy a man whose work speaks louder than their lies.
Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo has, in less than a year as Minister of Interior, delivered reforms that have restored public confidence in government operations. He cleared passport production backlogs nationwide within weeks, introduced service automation that blocked corruption loopholes, improved response efficiency across the Ministry and aligned his work with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. While some spend their lives spreading hate on social media, Dr. Tunji-Ojo is busy fixing problems and delivering results.
Those behind this baseless attack are simply frustrated because relevance is no longer measured by noise but by impact. Their propaganda has crashed. Their lies have expired. Their mission has failed. This is a lost battle, an empty tantrum and a smear campaign that died before it even started.
The Progressives Network for Tinubu (PNT) urges Nigerians to ignore these distractions and remain focused on national progress. Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo is a shining example of competence in public service. Detractors did not make him, and they cannot break him. Those who fear his rise should go and learn from his work ethic instead of embarrassing themselves with cheap blackmail.
We stand firmly with Dr. Tunji-Ojo and urge him to remain resolute. No attack can stop a man backed by performance, integrity and the Nigerian people.
