The Olukare of Ikare-Akoko in Ondo State, Oba Akadiri Saliu Momoh IV (J.P) has formally terminated the appointment of Alhaji AbdulGanyi Imam Bello as the Olodeke -Ekan Ikare with effect from the 26th of June, 2025.
According to an official statement from the palace of Olukare, the decision was taken in response to Alhaji Bello’s repeated acts of misconduct, including violent behaviour and actions that have caused division within the Muslim community and Ikare-Akoko town as a whole.
The Olukare referenced a previous query issued to Alhaji Bello on the 10th of July, 2024, noting that he had failed to show improvement or respect for traditional authority.
“Your continued disregard for the authority of the Olukare cannot be overlooked', the letter read in part.
All rights and privileges attached to the title have been revoked, and the matter forwarded to the Chairman of Akoko North-East Local Government Area for official records.
The palace reaffirmed its commitment to preserving peace and unity within the community.
