HON. TOMISIN EDU FALADE, CEO TEF FOUNDATION, EMPOWERS STUDENTS WITH BURSARY AWARDS

In a landmark demonstration of compassion, visionary leadership, and unwavering commitment to educational advancement, Hon. Tomisin Falade Edu, the distinguished CEO of TEF Foundation, has embarked on a groundbreaking bursary distribution to secondary school students across Akure North Local Government Area. The philanthropic gesture, which has been described as unprecedented, targeted students from Alamo Grammar School Itaogbolu, Igoba Community High School, Elu Iju High School, and Anglican Grammar School Iju/Itaogbolu, offering vital financial support to alleviate the burden of school expenses and inspire academic excellence.

The bursary initiative directly benefited 80 students across the four schools, with students from JSS1 to SS2 receiving ₦20,000 each, while those in SS3 were awarded ₦30,000 to aid their final year preparations. In addition to the individual grants, Hon. Tomisin generously presented ₦50,000 to each of the four schools to enhance educational infrastructure and improve learning conditions. As part of the intervention, she also took up the full payment of a school uniform for Ologun Pemisire, a student of Alamo Grammar School Itaogbolu, further cementing her deep-rooted dedication to uplifting the less privileged in society.

The initiative comes as part of TEF Foundation’s ongoing mission to transform lives and communities, having previously embarked on several life-touching programs in the areas of women empowerment, healthcare services, potable water provision, and youth capacity development. The foundation’s consistent track record of impactful interventions has earned it widespread recognition as a formidable force for positive change within and beyond Akure North.

The historic occasion attracted an array of dignitaries whose presence underscored the significance of the initiative. Among the notable personalities present were Hon. Fadumo Emmanuel, Hon. Oluwasina Alex, Hon. Princess Aderonke Oluyede, Hon. Babateye Ayoola, Mr. Oluwasina Deji, Mr. Oyeleye Samuel Oluyimide, Mr. Akitipi Ibikunle Ebenezer, Mr. Ajayi Femi Raphael, Mrs. Oduniyi Omoboja, Mr. Omotayo Diya, Mr. Olabode Adeleke, Hon. Akin Gbangba, and several others. Their attendance highlighted the widespread admiration for Hon. Tomisin’s dedication to the betterment of society.



The atmosphere was filled with emotion and gratitude as the principals of the benefiting schools delivered heartfelt remarks in recognition of Hon. Tomisin’s benevolence. Mrs. Ademiye, Principal of Alamo Grammar School Itaogbolu, commended the initiative, describing it as a “transformational intervention that has restored hope to the students and their families.” She fervently prayed for divine blessings upon Hon. Tomisin, acknowledging her as a beacon of hope for the younger generation. Dr. Olobayo T.T, Principal of Igoba Community High School, expressed his profound gratitude, lauding the initiative as a “rare act of selflessness” and praying for Hon. Tomisin’s continued elevation. Representing the Principal of Elu Iju High School, Vice Principal Mr. Mewase hailed the initiative as “the first of its kind from a woman in the community,” describing Hon. Tomisin as “a trailblazer whose impact will echo through generations.” At Anglican Grammar School Iju/Itaogbolu, the event turned into a spontaneous celebration, with staff, parents, and students breaking into songs of gratitude to honor the philanthropic intervention.

The outpouring of appreciation extended beyond the school authorities, as students and community members shared emotional testimonies of how the bursary had transformed their lives. Fadele Ayomiposi expressed heartfelt gratitude, praying that “God will bless and fulfill all your heart desires.” Famusudo Mercy described the bursary as “a life-changing opportunity” and prayed for divine upliftment for Hon. Tomisin. Mrs. Funmilayo, a parent, described the intervention as “a great relief” and prayed that Hon. Tomisin would enjoy the fruit of her labor. Hon. Akin Gbangba commended the initiative, declaring that “it is time for women to rise, and Hon. Tomisin is leading the charge.” A community member further added, “Hon. Tomisin has shown that she will represent us well. We need her, and God will crown her efforts.”

In her inspiring address, Hon. Tomisin reaffirmed that the bursary distribution is a cornerstone of TEF Foundation’s broader mission to uplift communities through education, women empowerment programs, healthcare services, access to potable water, and youth empowerment through skills and innovation. She passionately encouraged the beneficiaries to seize the opportunity with dedication and excellence, promising that the foundation will expand its scholarship programs to reach more students in the near future.
