According to a family source, Oyabiyi was attacked suddenly and shot before he could attempt to escape from his vehicle. His death has sent shockwaves through the community, leaving residents in fear, particularly as the area has witnessed recent security concerns. Just a week ago, four students of the Federal College of Agriculture were abducted within the same axis, further raising alarms over the worsening security situation.
Residents of Oba-Ile and its environs are now living in apprehension, calling on security agencies to intensify efforts in tackling the rising wave of criminal activities. Many have expressed concerns over the safety of lives and property, especially in areas close to major roads and less densely populated locations.
Confirming the incident, the Public Relations Officer of the Ondo State Police Command, Funmilayo Odunlami, stated that law enforcement agencies have commenced investigations. She assured the public that the police are working diligently to apprehend those responsible for the heinous act.
As security challenges continue to mount in Ondo State, residents and stakeholders are urging the government and security agencies to deploy more personnel to volatile areas and implement proactive measures to prevent further attacks.
