Ondo APC Chairman, Engr. Ade Adetimehin, Reportedly Suspended Amid Denial.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ofosu Ward, Idanre Local Government, of Ondo State has found itself at the center of a political storm following reports of the suspension of the Ondo State APC Chairman, Engr. Ade Adetimehin, over allegations of gross misconduct. The news, which emerged from an alleged resolution by ward executives, claimed that Adetimehin’s suspension was necessary to address concerns over party discipline and leadership accountability.

The resolution, purportedly signed by fifteen ward officials, alleged that Adetimehin had made statements capable of inciting unrest and destabilizing the party. Among the alleged signatories were Adepegha Olabisi (Chairman), Oyewole Olabisi (Vice Chairman), Akinnuoye Olarewaju (Secretary), and Akinlata Abiodun (Legal Adviser). The document suggested that the action was taken to safeguard the unity and internal harmony of the party, with the suspension declared effective immediately.

However, the situation took a different turn when the Ofosu Ward executives issued a statement denying the suspension and describing it as a fabrication. The ward leaders distanced themselves from the reports, stating that no such decision was made at any level and that the document in circulation was not legitimate.

The denial described the alleged suspension as the handiwork of mischief-makers aiming to sow discord within the party. The ward executives reaffirmed their support for Adetimehin, noting his contributions to the progress and stability of the APC in Ondo State. They also called for intervention from the party’s leadership and relevant authorities to investigate and address the incident.

The controversy has sparked diverse reactions within the political landscape. While some viewed the initial suspension report as a reflection of discontent among grassroots members, the subsequent denial raised questions about the authenticity of the claims and the possible motives behind them.

As the situation unfolds, stakeholders within the APC have called for calm and urged both parties to resolve the matter amicably. There are growing expectations that the Ondo State Governor, Mr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, and the APC’s national leadership will step in to address the issue and prevent any further escalation.

For now, the focus remains on ensuring that the party’s unity and stability are not compromised by the incident, with all eyes on how the leadership navigates this potentially divisive development.
