Akoko North East APC Youth and Students Campaign Council Holds Strategic Meeting Ahead of Ondo 2024 Election

In the lead-up to the highly anticipated governorship election scheduled for November 16, 2024, the Akoko North East Local Government Youth and Students Campaign Council held a strategic meeting to fine-tune efforts for the re-election of Governor Lucky Ayedatiwa. The meeting, which took place at the local government headquarters, brought together key stakeholders, including youth leaders, students' representatives, party officials, and campaign volunteers.

Hon. Adedeji Opeyemi, Youth Leader and Chairman of the Committee, opened the session by praising the outstanding commitment and enthusiasm demonstrated by the youth and student bodies in the region. He acknowledged their instrumental role in mobilizing support for Governor Ayedatiwa’s candidacy and urged them to continue intensifying their efforts as the election approaches. “The remarkable energy we’ve seen from our youth and students has been pivotal in spreading our message of continuity and progress. Now is the time to build on this momentum and ensure every voter in Akoko North East is reached and motivated to support our candidate,” Opeyemi said.

Highlighting the importance of a collective approach, Hon. Omotola Niran, a prominent member of the campaign team, emphasized that the success of the campaign hinges on the unified efforts of all involved. He called for heightened grassroots engagement, particularly through door-to-door canvassing. “Every member of this team, from the grassroots to the leadership, has a crucial role to play in securing victory. We must focus on engaging voters personally, ensuring they understand the governor's achievements and the impact of his policies on their lives,” Niran stated. He further stressed the importance of a ground-level, house-to-house approach to ensure that voters are not only informed but also personally connected to the campaign.

Echoing this call for grassroots mobilization, Hon. Oseni Muyideen, the Deputy Chairman of the APC in Akoko North East, reiterated the need for direct voter engagement. “The success of this election will not be determined by speeches or rallies alone; it will be won on the streets, in the communities, and in the homes of our people. We must reach every voter, answer their questions, and ensure that they understand the critical role they play in securing the future of Ondo State,” Muyideen said.

A key moment in the meeting was the reaffirmation of support from the student body, with Comrade Kolawole Abass Olalekan, the Global President of Akoko North East Students, making a strong pledge for the full mobilization of students in support of Governor Ayedatiwa. Olalekan emphasized that the student community, which has benefited from the governor’s educational reforms and youth empowerment programs, stands united in ensuring a successful election outcome. “Our students are not just supporters of this campaign; they are an integral part of the movement for change. We will ensure that our votes are counted and that we turn out in record numbers to back Governor Ayedatiwa for a second term,” Olalekan asserted.

The campaign team also discussed the importance of voter education and combating misinformation in the run-up to election day. Recognizing that voter apathy and confusion remain significant challenges, the council outlined plans to further enhance voter awareness, particularly in rural and underserved areas. “We cannot afford to let misinformation or voter confusion stand in the way of a fair election. Our teams will be working tirelessly to provide clear, accurate information about the voting process, dispel any myths, and encourage every eligible voter to come out and vote,” Hon. Opeyemi explained.

The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment to delivering a decisive victory for Governor Ayedatiwa and the All Progressives Congress (APC). Members of the Campaign Council pledged to continue their tireless work in the final days leading up to the election, with plans for additional rallies, grassroots outreach, and digital campaigns aimed at ensuring a robust voter turnout. “We are fully committed to ensuring that Governor Ayedatiwa is re-elected for a second term, and we will leave no stone unturned in securing a resounding victory in Akoko North East,” Opeyemi added.

With just days remaining before the election, the Akoko North East Youth and Students Campaign Council is preparing for an intensive final push, focused on maximizing voter turnout and ensuring that Governor Ayedatiwa’s message of progress and continuity resonates with every eligible voter in the region.
