V-8 Network Tackles Agboola Ajayi Over Allegation of Governor Aiyedatiwa's Influence on LCDAs Judgment

The V-8 Network has emphatically denied allegations that Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa influenced the recent court ruling that declared the creation of Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) in Ondo State unlawful.

On Thursday, the Ondo State High Court in Akure, presided over by Justice A.O Adebusoye, ruled against the establishment of 33 LCDAs by the late former governor, Mr. Rotimi Akeredolu. This decision stirred controversy, especially from Mr. Agboola Ajayi, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, who criticized the judgment and accused the Governor of interference.

In a statement made available to News Spotlight by the group, it strongly refuted any claims of external influence on the court’s decision. They condemned Ajayi’s allegations as unfounded and intended to undermine both the governor and the judiciary’s integrity.

The statement reads in part, "Governor Aiyedatiwa has consistently upheld the independence of the judiciary. Suggestions that he influenced the court’s ruling are baseless."

"These accusations are part of a politically motivated attempt to distract and smear the reputation of Governor Lucky Ayedatiwa, who is obviously dedicated to good governance."

Expressing disappointment in Ajayi’s remarks, the V-8 Network called on Ajayi to follow due process by substantiating his claims with evidences.

"Unsubstantiated claims erode public trust in our legal system and jeopardize our democratic principles," the statement emphasized.  Adding that allegations of this nature must be supported by credible evidence."

The V-8 Network reiterated its unwavering support for Governor Aiyedatiwa and expressed confidence in the judiciary’s impartiality. "We stand firmly behind Governor Aiyedatiwa, whose commitment to justice and principled leadership remains steadfast," the group affirmed.

They urge the general public to maintain their trust in Governor Ayedatiwa's administration and to utterly reject baseless rumors, denouncing them as politically motivated ploys designed to mislead and deceive the people in a bid to score cheap political points.
